Publishes original research on all aspects of psychology related to health, health-related behaviour and illness across the lifespan. It encourages submissions of papers reporting experimental, theoretical and applied studies, focusing on (but not limited to) topics including:
- psychosocial mediators of health-related behaviours
- influence of emotion on health and health-related behaviours
- psychosocial processes relevant to disease outcomes
- psychological interventions in health and disease
- emotional and behavioural responses to ill health, screening and medical procedures
- psychological aspects of prevention.
The journal features papers reporting original empirical investigations; theoretical papers (analyses or commentaries on established theories or presentations of theoretical innovations); review papers and methodological papers.
